This is an area where women like to splurge. I know I would. I
would keep buying more and more brushes. But when
you think
about it it becomes clear you don't really need that many. Most women
end up using 5 or 6 brushes regularly and the rest remain on display to
admire.
Choosing your brushes also depends on how your eye is shaped and what
works for you. For
example, my eyelids are spacious so very small eye shadow brushes don't
work for me. I prefer one large shadow brush, it's easier and
faster to apply makeup.
In the below video, I talk about my best makeup brushes and why I love
them so much.
MY FAVORITE
BRUSHES
If you don't want to spend tons
of money on
brushes, here's the link to BlushCosmetics.
There are other factors to consider when determining your best makeup
brushes. Your age and the type of bristles. Sounds strange? Let me
explain.
When you are in your twenties
or early thirties you skin (eyelids and
brow bone) is firm and smooth. You can use any soft brush and blending
is never a problem. As you get older the firmness slowly reduces,
leaving your skin saggier (especially if overweight like
me). In this
case,
slightly stiffer bristles will work better to control "wobbly" skin.
Of course, it's our choice to splurge or not on lots of professional makeup
brushes. If you love
owning many brushes then go for it, enjoy the pleasure of purchasing
them. If you are more conservative or have little money, there is no
reason to feel deprived. You would only end up using a few anyway.
