Whenever I see a photo of a celebrity, I tend to look
at the makeup and what the artist was trying to achieve with cosmetics.
I don't see the person in the photo, just the makeup. Crazy, huh?
I've met a few celebrity makeup artists over the years and we chatted
about their best tips. Some are listed below. I hope you enjoy them :-)

How
can I
purchase/choose eyeshadow colors when I'm shopping during my
lunch hour and can't take off my makeup?
Pick three colors you think might look good on you. Paint a swatch of
each on three fingers (one color per finger). Grab a mirror and hold it
to the distance people would normally see you in.
See which colors look best against your complexion.
If samples are not
available to swipe, hold the eyeshdow pot next to your face. It's a
great way to choose colors without trying them on. Celebrity makeup tips

How
can I
know which shape of eyebrows is suited for my face?
A very simple trick is to open a fashion magazine and look for a woman
who has your face shape.
Her eyebrows would look great on you. Celebrity makeup tips from

How
do I
prevent my dark circles concealer from caking?
Take a little concealer and warm it up on the back of your hand first.
Warm it up with a finger until it's soft and warm. This will prevent
the caky look under your eyes when you pat it on. Most people make the
mistake of applying it directly. Then apply your makeup foundation over
it. During this whole process,
keep
looking up towards the sky. If you look down, you will wrinkle your
under eye area. Wait until the concealer and foundation are dry to
look down.

I've
applied
too much mascara and it looks fake. What now?
If you've put too much mascara and your lashes look fake. Press the
tips of your lashes between your fingers and extra product will come
off easily. Jessica, Makeup Artist with Ford

How
can prevent eye shadow fall out?
Put
a good amount of translucent power right below the eyes. Pat it on
generously until you have a thick layer of white powder just sitting
there. When done with your makeup, wipe it away with a clean makeup
brush. You can also place a tissue under the eyes while applying makeup. Jessica, Makeup Artist with Ford

How can I
cover a nasty pimple, fast?
The
oldest trick in the book is to apply a dot of toothpaste on your
pimple. Massage it in. Then apply
your concealer and foundation as
normal. The toothpaste will not only clear your pimple visually but
will keep working underneath your makeup all day long. Leticia Roberts, Celebrity Makeup Artist
I
have very thin lips. How can I make them appear bigger?
First
of all, stay away from dark red lipstick! This would just "thin" out
your lips even more. Use a shimmering light reflecting lip gloss
instead. But the real trick is to line your lips with a soft white
pencil. Make the line almost invisible and apply it just outside your
natural lip line. This will create the illusion of fuller lips.

What
is your best makeup secret of all time?
Even out your complexion! Many women think
they can just make up up
their eyes and lips and look groomed. Unfortunately,
beautifully eyes and mouth will be wasted if you have sun
spots, flushes or pimples on your skin. Nobody has a perfect
complexion, not even models! This doesn't mean you have to go for full
coverage but a little foundation and powder is always needed.
